Maintenance Carpenter (Finance)
The Maintenance Carpenter performs Journey level work in rough and finished carpentry; cement masonry work in constructing and repairing wooden articles and structures; concrete materials and substances; and performs other related duties as required.
The selected applicant will Lay out, cut, fit, and join lumber to construct the wooden framework for a variety of structures. They also will be tasked with install cabinets, shelving, and bookcases; install locks and other hardware. Additionally, the Maintenance Carpenter will Operate a variety of woodworking machines and heavy equipment used to repair and construct building frameworks and structures.
Competitive candidates will have experience in drywall installation and repair, countertop fabrication and installation, and ceiling system installation and repair. Additionally, Installation and repairs of finished and subflooring for example ceramic, stone, concrete, laminate, composite, wood, and carpet are also highly desired.
This position will be 9/80 Monday-Friday 7AM-5PM, including a mandatory rotational on call weekends.

Riverside County Department of Facilities Management provides property management and operations services for county owned and leased facilities throughout the 7,200 square miles of Riverside County and over 14 million square feet of space. The department is responsible for keeping county buildings safe, comfortable and productive for both county staff and the public.• Lay out, cut, fit, and join lumber to construct the wooden framework for a variety of structures; erect sheathing for walls and roofs; hang doors and install wooden window sashes.
• Saw, fit, and nail interior trim; install cabinets, shelving, and bookcases; install locks and other hardware.
• Operate woodworking machinery (e.g., sanders, planers, lathes, joiners, and power saws) in the construction of cabinets, shelves, stairways, and other wooden articles or structures.
• Sharpen saws; read blueprints and estimate needed materials; perform plaster patching, spot and stencil painting, and general building repairs, as required.
• Build, install and set forms for pouring concrete according to specifications, ensuring proper curing and finishing of concrete fixtures and/or structures.Experience: Four years of increasingly responsible experience performing rough and/or finished carpentry work.
Knowledge of: The practices, tools, equipment, and materials used in the carpentry and/or cement masonry trade; considerable knowledge of safety practices and applicable building codes.
Ability to: Operate a variety of woodworking machines and heavy equipment used to repair and construct building frameworks and structures; read, interpret, and work from sketches and blueprints; read and write English at the level necessary for successful job performance; estimate materials needed; understand and follow oral and written directions.
Other Requirements
Possession of a valid Class C California Driver License. The Maintenance Carpenter will travel throughout Riverside County to different shops.
Successful completion of a Sheriff's Level One Clearance (background check)This recruitment is open to all applicants.
