Regional Payroll Coordinator (Finance)
Support all non-exempt payroll-related functions within the assigned region. Prepares hourly employee payrolls for processing and supports employees, supervisors, and HR through multiple payroll functions.
Essential Position Responsibilities - This is a Salary Non-Exempt position.
Prepare multiple payrolls for processing. Ensure time cards are approved by supervisors and review adjustments. Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. Sign off on time cards prior to being processed. Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
Support employees, supervisors, and HR through multiple payroll functions. Review the new hire list to ensure employees have been set up in the system correctly. Verify information from HR related to referral bonuses and process payments. Answer payroll-related questions from employees and supervisors. Key new hire direct deposit forms and any other direct deposit changes requested by the employee. Issue pay cards to new employees as needed. For terminating employees, verify unused vacation time and apply to the time card as appropriate. Work with supervisors to research missing time reports. Submit special order check requests to the corporate office as needed.
Administer additional payroll functions. Maintains records for active temp employees. Verify temps' hours worked and report to temp agencies. Periodically audit pay rates, confirming current pay rate against pay scales, notifying HR of any discrepancies. Review employee hiring anniversaries for employees eligible for raise or bonus and notify HR. Upload store stock file to payroll system.
Participates as a member of the Team . Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical Activities: Enters and locates information on a computer. Visually verifies information, often in small print. Presents information to small or large groups. Communicates with Employees via telephone, in person, and/or electronic mail.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): As required by visiting facility.
Travel: Occasional travel may be required.
Technical Experience: 1-2 years in Human Resources or Accounting field. Payroll experience is strongly preferred. Able to use a personal computer and ten keys. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Google Sheets a plus. Must be organized, detail oriented and be able to work with minimal supervision.

Minimum Education : High School diploma or equivalent.
