Mechanical Technician (Finance)
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Maintains and repairs mechanical equipment in assigned geographical area.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, maintain, trouble-shoot, and repair all pipeline related equipment (Valves, Pumps, Electric valve actuators, Turbine meters, Tanks, etc).
- Calibrate mechanical pressure gauges.
- Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Budget and procure parts and tools when necessary.
- Provide assistance in repairs, maintenance, and operation of all equipment and right of way.
- Participates in the training of O & M Personnel.
- May be required to handle basic electrical, right of way, operational, and general maintenance duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Driver's license.
- Two or four year Mechanical Technology degree/certificate or equivalent desired.
- Sufficient relevant experience and mechanical technician related work experience in an industrial environment to satisfactorily perform job.
- Sufficient on the job experience performing mechanical technician related duties in an industrial environment to be able to do job.
- Good technical and analytical ability.
- Physically able to carry out job requirements.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend written communications.
- Ability to accept supervision and direction and to work efficiently and cooperatively with other people.
- Must be able and willing to work overtime and to respond to callouts to perform work as needed.
- Must be able to work outside and inside in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
