Intern - Audit Services (Finance)

Job Description:
Role

Under the direction of the Audit Services Director or her designee, assist with financial, operational, compliance or IT audits and other special projects. Assist with various tasks within the Audit Services Department. Internships are reserved for current students working toward a bachelor degree in accounting, finance, data analytics or other applicable business degree. Completion of relevant courses including accounting, auditing and computer information systems, preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with financial, operational, compliance or IT audits.
• Assist with special projects and research.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.

Experience

No prior experience required, however completion of courses in accounting, auditing and computer information systems is preferred.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

High school diploma or equivalent required. College junior or senior working toward a bachelor degree in accounting, finance, data analytics or other applicable business degree.

Skills

• Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills
• Microsoft Excel, including knowledge of medium to complex formulas
• Critical thinking skills to analyze information and resolve issues
• Organizational/planning skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Some knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others, primarily inside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information.
