DEPARTMENT ASSISTANT - FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES (Administrative)
The main duties include answering the telephone, assisting with the department's various needs, and maintaining proper customer service. Additional responsibilities may include data entry, interdepartmental communications, and other clerical duties. Provide families with support, encouragement, and information regarding area resources. Maintains working knowledge of the Family Support Services Program and its relationship with local and state agencies, financial programs, and other professionals to enhance services. Maintains an extremely high level of customer service and confidentiality while ensuring that HIPPA guidelines are followed at all times. Assists departments with secretarial/receptionist duties and scheduling functions. Takes phone messages accurately and delivers accordingly. Assists with mail responsibilities for the department. May be asked to perform any department function. Expectation is that the task will be completed in a timely manner, accurately, and with the utmost level of customer service to all. Performs other responsibilities as required. This position requires endurance to perform tasks over long periods of work hours and the ability to perform essential functions without posing a "direct threat" in the workplace. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
