Position Summary:
This position coordinates and supports a variety of daily information technology-related operations in Sarofim Hall and the interdisciplinary arts, inside the classrooms, studios, labs, gallery, cinema, and performance space. This position also supports event management by providing technological oversight.
The Facilities Manager will provide in-house technical support on hardware, software, peripherals, and network connectivity. The facilities coordinator maintains, operates, and ensures the effective deployment of key departmental computer labs and classroom AV systems. A key responsibility will be ensuring that lab computers and AV systems operate with Rice's approved, standard, and most up-to-date operational software. The facilities coordinator will assist with troubleshooting any problems with hardware, networking, or software, and if the issue can't be resolved, liaise with Rice University's Information Technology team. The Facilities Manager's skills and knowledge solve common and complex issues to work with both the Office of Information Technology and Facilities.
