Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions oversees daily operations in the Office of Admissions, with specific management over graduate recruitment, application, and communication processes. Collaborates with academic colleges to ensure effective and efficient processing and evaluation of graduate student applications.
Duties
- Responds to and refer inquiries to the appropriate graduate program. Oversees and manages the graduate candidate applicant pool from application through enrollment, including processing application documents and related materials
- Serves as liaison to department chairs and program directors regarding prospective graduate students and applicants
- Assists with marketing and recruitment efforts for all graduate programs
- Coordinates, monitors, and reports all data pertinent to the application and admissions of graduate students, including weekly reports to the appropriate graduate school administration and faculty
- Coordinates and manages recruitment event planning for graduate programs

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of a higher education environment and the related trends, issues, and accepted practices
- Knowledge of graduate admissions requirements and prerequisites
- Knowledge of relevant university policies and procedures
Skills:
- Good technical skills, including proficiency in MS Office, EAB Navigate, and PeopleSoft
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Good organizational skills
Abilities:
- Ability to make presentations
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse university community
Work Location and Physical Demands
Primary Work Location:
- Works in an office environment
Physical Demands:
- Work is performed in a typical interior work environment, which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements
- The individual has discretion in relation to walking, standing etc., and has minimal exposure to physical risks
- Must have precise hand-eye coordination and the ability to identify and distinguish colors
- Must have the ability to move items of up to 30lbs
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree
Required Experience:
- Minimum of four (4) years of related job experience
