BI Data & Visualization Engineer (position requires onsite employee in Columbus Ohio - Not a Remote position) Position Summary The position will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow, collection, modeling, and visualizations for cross functional teams. This position will serve as a data pipeline builder and data wrangler responsible for optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. The position will support our software developers, report developers, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects.The role involves significant responsibilities in data reporting and machine learning. The candidate will be expected to analyze complex datasets, generate insightful reports, and develop machine learning models to support business decisions. Essential Functions Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements. Build, support and maintain the data infrastructure / services required to transform, compile, mine and stitch data together from a wide variety of data repositories such as the company's ERP systems, Data Warehouse and BI Applications while developing new modeling techniques and tools for analytics and reporting. Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, performance, etc. Build analytics tools that utilize data technologies to provide actionable insights into our customers, products, performance, processes, and other key business performance metrics. Work with stakeholders, internal / external teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure / service needs. Develop a data strategy, build alignment, and execute on a data management process for key systems for proper retention, purging and access Promotes and consults on data management, governance, and data quality of data requirements with other functional data owners to ensure data integrity across the operation of systems are consistent and meets stated business rules and requirements. Design and execute analytic projects; generate insights to support business decisions using advanced analytical and visualization techniques such as descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics. Build high-performance algorithms, predictive models, and prototypes. Education Level Minimum - 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Data Analysis, Data Engineering, or Mathematics or equivalent work experience Experience 1 - 3 years of data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining, MS Power BI modelling, Dax, data storytelling, report publishing, security and knowledge of how people make decisions with data. Certificates & Licenses Valid Driver's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to worksites. Experience in Lean Six Sigma preferred. Additional Requirements Knowledge of: Microsoft based software applications, desktop and server operating systems. Skill in: project management, problem solving, troubleshooting, organizing work flow and processes; internal customer service. Ability to: work quickly and efficiently; train, coach, develop; multi-task; communicate effectively with internal customers and vendors; develop good working relationships.
