Sushi Chef (Food Services)
Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and specialty rolls with precision and creativity.
Maintain the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
Ensure proper storage, handling, and preparation of all ingredients in compliance with food safety regulations.
Develop seasonal and specialty sushi menus in collaboration with the Executive Chef.
Manage sushi bar operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness.
Interact with members and guests to provide an engaging and personalized dining experience.
Train and mentor kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety protocols.
Monitor and maintain sanitation and hygiene standards in accordance with health regulations.
Stay updated on industry trends and innovations to enhance the sushi offerings.
Assist in catering and special events that require sushi preparation.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef in a high-end restaurant, hotel, or country club setting.
Extensive knowledge of sushi preparation, knife skills, and ingredient selection.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Culinary degree or relevant certifications preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Manual dexterity for intricate sushi preparation techniques.
