Merchant (Finance)
The Merchant is responsible for developing and executing the merchandising strategy to maximize sales and profitability. This role involves analyzing market trends, managing vendor relationships, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product offerings and promotions.
Location: Across from the Chester County Airport (Right off the express 30 bypass)
Work details: Hybrid (max 2 days/week remote) - onsite preferred. General work schedule - 8:30-5:30 with an hour for lunch.
Key Responsibilities
Merchandising Strategy: Develop and implement merchandising strategies aligned with Witmers goals and market trends. Adapt to a changing retail environment that supports our ecommerce, showroom, print, and sales teams.Product Selection: Curate and manage product assortments based on customer preferences, sales data, and market research.Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating terms and managing contracts to ensure favorable pricing and product availability.Sales Analysis: Analyze sales performance and market trends to make data-driven decisions regarding inventory management and product assortment.Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, sales, and inventory planning teams to ensure cohesive product launches and promotions.Budget Management:Oversee budgeting for product categories, ensuring profitability and efficient allocation of resources.Team Leadership: Mentor and train junior team members, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.Consumer Insights: Gather and analyze customer feedback and market intelligence to inform product development and merchandising strategies.Compliance: Adhere to all Witmer Public Safety Group Policies and Procedures.
