SCOPE OF ROLE

Reporting to the Supervisor, Behavioral Health Services, the Counselor, Forensic MOUD Court will provide counseling services to clients in close collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team. The Counselor, Forensic MOUD Court works with the specialty court docket team to assess, implement, monitor, and evaluate clients' behavioral health and substance use symptoms throughout their treatment. Counseling services will primarily occur at Signature Health, with required attendance at the Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) Specialty Court docket hearings and meetings. The Counselor, Forensic MOUD Court will help clients access comprehensive care while serving as a reliable and professional liaison between the criminal justice system and Signature Health.

HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED

• Conduct individual, group, or family therapy for clients.
• Actively engage in supervision with your BH Supervisor.
• Participate in MOUD Specialty Court hearings and any related meetings as requested.
• Maintain client charting in accordance with Medicaid, OhioMHAS, CARF and professional standards.
• Collaborates effectively with client's treatment team and any court/jail personnel involved with their care.
• Assist in community outreach.
• Acts to understand and safeguard the welfare of others.
• Actively consults with supervisor to act upon ethical and legal aspects of the organization.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree required. Master's degree in social work or related field preferred.
• Valid unencumbered LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC, LIMFT or LMFT License required in the state of Ohio.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Knowledge of and work experience within Criminal Justice and behavioral health fields preferred.
• Competency in the treatment of mental health and/or substance use disorders within the context of individual, group, couples and family systems therapy.
• Experience collaborating with other team members to optimize outcomes clients.
• Familiarity of state and federal healthcare regulations.
• Awareness of community and state support resources for population served.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office/clinical work environment.
• While hours of operation are generally standard, flexibility to work evenings and extended hours may be required.
• Requires periods of sitting, standing, telephone, and computer work.
• Hearing: adequate to hear clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
• Speaking: adequate to speak to clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
• Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
• Physical effort required: occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds, unassisted.
• Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing job duties.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular workday.
• Sufficient dexterity to operate a PC and other office equipment.
